Production error: iced tea is recalled
Hermann Pfanner Getränke GmbH warns against various iced tea drinks offered by the supermarket chains EDEKA and Marktkauf. Due to a production error, parts of the thread may loosen and get into the drink. Since these foreign bodies represent a potential health hazard, the affected varieties of iced tea are being recalled. The manufacturer advises against consumption.

Several types of the brand “EDEKA Ice Tea” in 1.5 liter PET bottles from the manufacturer Hermann Pfanner Getränke GmbH with all expiration dates from July 1, 2021 to September 17, 2021 are affected. The products were sold at both EDEKA and Marktkauf excluded. The recall includes the following:
EDEKA Ice Tea Lemon-Lime EDEKA Ice Tea Peach EDEKA Ice Tea Wild Cherry EDEKA Green Lychee EDEKA Lime Prickly Pear
Why is iced tea being recalled?
“During the manufacture of the bottles and the filling process, a partially defective screw connection developed due to the interaction of unfavorable factors,” writes the manufacturer in a customer information sheet. Because of this, small fragments can come loose from the thread when opening and closing the drink. These foreign objects can enter the drink when it is poured and be drunk with it. Depending on the shape and size of the fragment, these plastic particles present a potential health risk.
Where can I return iced tea?
Anyone who has already purchased the above products can return them to the respective point of sale. The purchase price will be refunded there. Hermann Pfanner Getränke GmbH customer service will answer all questions regarding the recall Monday to Sunday from 6:00 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. on 0800 3335211. (vb)
