“As part of a new edition of the packaging, the allergen label ‘Contains sulphites’ has unfortunately been removed,” the company wrote in a statement.
The “Sangria 7% vol” drink in its 1.0-liter cardboard packaging is affected by the recall, with batch numbers recognizable by the following first four digits: L6573…, L6763…, L6922… and L7006…. This lot identification can be found on the top of the packaging next to the closure.
According to reports, the item was sold in the Länder of Bavaria, Baden-Württemberg, Hesse, Lower Saxony, North Rhine-Westphalia, Rhineland-Palatinate, Saarland, Saxony and Thuringia as well than in adjacent areas. The drink was mainly offered in Edeka and Marktkauf.
