Metal parts found in various baking items

A French pastry maker is recalling its products offered by REWE, EDEKA and Marktkauf. Reason: Metallic residues have been found in items which present a risk of injury when consumed.

The French manufacturer Gouters Magiques, in cooperation with Genuport Trade GmbH and PICO Food GmbH, provides information on product recalls for several pastries. Various products of the Biscuiterie Charlotte brand are concerned, in particular star cookies in natural varieties, raisins and marbled as well as marble rings, fine star cocoa and fine star raisins.

The following products are affected by the recall

As stated by the companies, it cannot be excluded that there are metal residues in the following bakery products:

Fine star cocoa, 250 grams; Best before dates: November 20, 2020 and November 27, 2020 Fine Stars Raisins, 250 grams; Best before date: November 27, 2020 Biscuiterie Charlotte Butterstern, 250 grams; Best before dates: November 29, 2020 and December 6, 2020 Biscuiterie Charlotte Marmorstern; Best before dates: November 29, 2020 and December 6, 2020 Biscuiterie Charlotte Rosinenstern; Best before dates: November 29, 2020 and December 6, 2020 Biscuiterie Charlotte Marmorring; Use-by date: December 24, 2020

Pastries should no longer be eaten

The manufacturer advises to no longer consume the above items. There is a risk of injury due to the metal parts it may contain. Anyone who has already purchased the cookies in question must return them to the store concerned.

Where was the pastry sold

As REWE announced in an announcement to a customer, the goods affected by the recall were sold in the federal states of Berlin, Brandenburg, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, Saxony, Saxony-Anhalt and Thuringia. Pastries were also offered at EDEKA and Marktkauf. So far, there is no information on the federal states in which the goods have been sold. (v)
